On October 22, 2010, the Russian Bid Committee withdrew their participation from the 2022 FIFA World Cup Bid race, to concentrate only on their 2018 FIFA World Cup Bid. The bid logo has now changed to reflect this step. Instead of including the figures '2022', it is instead the word 'Russia' followed only by '2018'.
